As my dear stepmtoher, MaryCarolyn, would always say and sign her letters "Happiness is a Decision". What makes you happy? The Declaration of Independence provides for "the unalienable right to pursue happiness" without undue government interference. When you stop to think about it - that's huge. The founders of the United States of America had the foresight to think beyond the daily struggle of food, shelter and safety - to think about people having their basic needs met and being able to pursue - Happiness.
This is an awesome theme to ponder for oneself and one that educators can use with all ages including toddlers.
It's always refreshing to be reminded about what is truly important in life, where happiness really comes from and that you need to create happiness for yourself. Veggie Tales always has sound advice for children to have the best life you can have.
